Small Islands. Big Science. Global Impact 2026

We have a message from a sister event: Small Islands. Big Science. Global Impact 2026. This is a special science gathering for climate researchers from Small Island Developing States aimed at ensuring “our science, stories, and solutions take centre stage in global climate discourse”. The SIDSCI Initiative at Emory University, Atlanta GA, along with its partners, are convening The SIDSCI 2026 Workshop which is now open for applications. Join researchers from across the Pacific, Caribbean, Atlantic, and Indian Ocean as we push for stronger small island leadership in climate science and policy. SIDSCI is an independent platform driven by SIDS expertise and priorities, designed to support stronger, more coordinated advocacy across global climate science and governance.

The event is hybrid, taking place on January 6 to 9, 2026 in Miami and online. The event is open to PhD-level scientists and BSc-level practitioners working on island climate challenges. The final deadline to apply is July 31, 2025. For more information email Dr Stacy-ann Robinson, CECAF: stacy-ann.robinson@emory.edu. To apply for priority consideration for travel and support please contact https://bit.ly/sidsci2026 today.
