Think Like a Forest screening during Adaptation Futures

We are excited to share a screening of Think Like a Forest during Adaptation Futures 2025 for event delegates on Thursday, 16 October.
Papatūānuku, our earth mother, is hurting. We have stripped away her life-giving cloak. The impact is felt through her whole being - in the climate, the waters, the forests, and in us.
The new short climate film, Think Like a Forest, presents a vision for a regenerative future where humans can change this destructive trajectory by connecting with nature and taking action for Recloaking Papatūānuku.
Recloaking Papatūānuku is an ambitious environmental restoration initiative to restore and enhance more than 2 million hectares of native forest and wetland in Aotearoa, over the next 30 years. By restoring the cloak on our whenua, we create resilience for our land and communities, drawing down carbon and future proofing against climate-related events, so we can all thrive.
Our guide through the Think Like a Forest journey is Sam the Trap Man. Sam is a father and self-described “bushman” — part hunter, trapper, fisher, forager and conservationist, an expert when it comes to the bush. He takes us to two significant areas of Aotearoa to share his knowledge and talk with kaitiaki of these ecosystems to show how we can all start to ‘Think Like a Forest.’
Featuring Sam The Trap Man, Renee Raroa, Graeme Atkins, Dame Anne Salmond, Malcolm Rutherford, Jordan Tibble, Prof. David Norton, Matt Iremonger, Shannon Bennett, Gill Cox, Sam Rowland, and Mere Tamanui.
